Patrick Joseph Payne

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 27, 2011 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Patrick Joseph Payne, 58, who passed away on June 20, 2011 at 8:15 AM at Lafayette General Medical Center. Reverend Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Church, will conduct the funeral services. Mr. Payne, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the son of the late Cecil Allen Payne of St. Cathrines, Ontario and the former Eileen McGinnis of Niagara Falls, Ontario. Pat was a 1971 graduate of Bishop Duffy High School in Niagara Falls, New York. He worked in the auto parts industry in Niagara Falls, New York and in Lafayette, LA. Pat enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles in the newspaper, yardwork, watching Nascar racing. He loved all kinds of music, He had a beautiful voice and was an awesome guitar player. He was a Soccer Coach for the Legal Eagles in 1993, and a T-ball Coach for the Red Sox in 1997. He was a fan of the Ragin Cagin Football and Baseball Team, He was an avid fan of The Buffalo Bills and the New Orleans Saints Football Teams. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend, and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Michele Quaranto Payne of Lafayette, LA; one son, Sean Patrick Payne of Lafayette, La; his mother Eileen Mary Payne of Niagara Falls, NY; two brothers, James Payne and wife Sue of Niagara Falls, NY and Frank Payne and wife Sharon of Memphis, TN; two sisters, Mary Kay Jordan and husband James of Niagara Falls, NY and Elizabeth Schlosser and friend Michael Mash of Niagara Falls, NY and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Anthony "Tony" and Myrabelle Quaranto both of Niagara Falls, NY; two brothers-in-law, Anthony Quaranto, Jr. and wife Karen of North Tonawanda, NY and James Quaranto and friend Teresa Daniels of Fort Wayne, IN; and one sister-in-law, Annette Quaranto of Astoria, NY and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil "Ted" Allen Payne; and an infant daughter, Myra Elizabeth Payne. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Monday, June 27, 2011 from 12:00 PM until the time of services in Lafayette. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the Med Source Nurses and Staff, the Nurses and staff on the 5th Floor at Lafayette General Medical Center, Dr. Juan Perez-Ruiz and staff, Dr. Christopher Lagraize and staff, Acadiana Gastroenterology Dr. Stephen Person and staff, also their special friends and coworkers at Quoyeser Inc. and Vermilionville for their compassion during Pat's illness.
