Pauline Marie Langlinais

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 10:00 am, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Broussard for Mrs. Louis P. Langlinais, the former Pauline Bernard, age 95, who passed away at 1:30 pm on Sunday, March 21, 2010 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will take place in Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery in Broussard. The Reverend Louis Richard will conduct the funeral services, con-celebrated by Father Keith Landry. Altar servers will be Gabrielle Pesson and Madison Landry. Lectors will be Brittney Lynn Griffin and Meaghan M. Boudreaux. Gift bearers will be Susan R. DeRousselle, Lynette R. Griffin, and Dayna R. Boudreaux. Musical selections will be provided by the Ladies Altar Society Choir. The songs will be "Amazing Grace", "J'irai la voir un jour", "Av' Maria" and "Be Not Afraid". Survivors include one daughter, Velma L. Reaux and husband Neil; three granddaughters, Susan R. DeRousselle and husband Danny of Lafayette, Lynette R. Griffin of Youngsville, and Dayna R. Boudreaux and husband Garett of Broussard; six great-grandchildren, Clark and Sean Guidry, Beau Griffin and his wife Britney Karol, Brittney Lynn Griffin, Neil and Meaghan Boudreaux; and one sister, Euna B. Hebert. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis P. Langlinais; her parents, Adonis Bernard and Marie Richard Bernard; one brother, Bennett Bernard; three half-brothers, Matthew, Alphonse and Felix Bernard; and one half-sister, Lizzie B. Bell. Pauline was a native and lifelong resident of Broussard. She was a life time member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and the Ladies Altar Society. She was a 1933 graduate and continuing supporter of St. Cecelia School where she was the first of four generations to attend. She had been active in the school PTC and for many years, was in charge of the cake booth at the school-church community fair, the school's main fund raiser. She loved the games of bouree and baseball. One of her favorite past times was watching baseball on television (especially the Atlanta Braves). She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She will always be remembered for her good cheer and great disposition. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by family and friends. Pallbearers will be Clark and Sean Guidry, Beau Griffin, Neil Boudreaux, Garett Boudreaux, and Perry Hebert. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Bell, Wayne and Bennett Bernard, and Harvey Bernard. A rosary will be prayed Tuesday at 4:00 pm by the Ladies Altar Society and at 6:30 pm by Father Keith Landry at Delhomme Funeral Home of Broussard. The family requests that visitation be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Broussard on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm and will continue on Wednesday , March 24, 2010 from 8:00 am until time of service. The family would like to thank all of the doctors, staff and pastoral care with Lafayette General Medical Center. A special thanks to the seventh floor nurses for their wonderful care and compassion during this difficult time.
