Rhonda Sue Steinmetz

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:30PM on Saturday, May 5, 2018 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Mrs. Rhonda Sue Steinmetz, 66, who passed away on May 1, 2018. Mrs. Steinmetz, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of Henry Ratcliff and the late Effie Lois Ratcliff. Rhonda was born in Orange, Texas and raised in Cameron, Louisiana. She was a 1969 graduate of South Cameron High School. Rhonda met her first love, Hal, in Cameron in 1970 and they were married for 27 years at the time of his death. She and Hal had two daughters, Kathrynne and Jessica, who gave her three beautiful grandchildren. Rhonda later married her second love, Charles, and would have celebrated 19 years of marriage on July 3rd. She was also blessed with two step-daughters, Chrissy and Terri and one step-granddaughter, Erica Ann. Rhonda worked in retail for many years and loved interacting and learning about her customers. Rhonda enjoyed singing in the church choir, reading and playing in her flower beds. She loved her family very much and was a very proud grandmother. Even though she experienced many health challenges over the last several years, Rhonda always had a positive attitude and was a joy to those around her. Our family would like to thank all of her caregivers during the last several months, including her doctors, nurses and the staff at New Iberia Medical Center and New Iberia Manor South. Special thanks to her nurses Demi and Larry for their care and attention during her final days. She is survived by her husband, Charles Steinmetz; children, Kathrynne Hall, Jessica Hall(Ryan), Chrissy Steinmetz, Theresa Steinmetz; father, Henry Ratcliff; grandchildren, Elizabeth Hall, Jackson Hall(Katelyn), Trevor Manchester, Erica Thomas; brother, Gerald Ratcliff(Delores); niece, Michelle Bertrand(Charles); nephew, Glenn Ratcliff(Monica); and beloved family friend, Glenda Domingue. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Hal Hall; mother, Effie Lois Ratcliff; and brother, Johnny Ratcliff. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 11:00AM until the time of service.
