Robert Keith Burdette

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Robert Keith "Bob" Burdette, 52, who went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 3, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family and friends. Mr. Burdette, longtime resident of Lafayette, Louisiana, was a devoted and caring husband, loving father and a dear friend to all who knew him. He was the eldest son of Sally Briggs Burdette and the late Karl Keith Burdette. Bob was born on July 21, 1960 in Garfield, Michigan. He graduated in the Class of 1978-Lafayette High School; the Class of 1982-LSU, College of Sciences; Class of 1986- Louisiana Tech University, Biomedical Engineering; and Class of 1991- LA Tech University, Health Administration. He lived for 20 years in Atlanta Georgia and was Chief Administrator at the Atlanta Dialysis Center working with patients suffering with end stage renal disease who required outpatient dialysis services. He was the owner of Dialysis Specialties. Bob is survived by his wife of 23 years, Vanessa Johnson Burdette; his two daughters, Sarah Ashleh Burdette of Atlanta, Georgia and Katelyn Ann Burdette of Lafayette, LA; his mother, Sally Burdette; his brother, Harry K. Burdette married to Caroline Bernard Burdette and their three children, William Harrison Burdette, Harry Alexander "Alec" Burdette and Emily Claire Burdette; his mother and father-in-law, John and Melba Johnson; his aunt, Donna Briggs Fairbanks; his brothers in law, David Johnson of Jennings, LA and Tony Johnson of San Mateo, CA; his sister in law, Angela Johnson Dawkins of Baytown, TX as well as his many nieces and nephews. The family request that visitation will be held on Tuesday at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette from 9:00 am until the time of service. Bobs favorite quotes included: "Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, he'll eat for a lifetime." and "There is no limit to what a man can do or where he can go if he doesn't mind who gets the credit."
