Rosemary L. Dufour

Funeral services will be held at a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, January 31, 2008 at Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist for Rosemary 'Rosie' Dufour, 86, who passed away after a brief illness on Monday, January 28, 2008 at Maison de Lafayette Nursing Home. Reverend Monsignor Keith DeRouen, Pastor of Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Interment will be held in Mater Dolorosa Mausoleum in Plaucheville. Mrs. Dufour, a native of Mamou and a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Oswald Landreneau of Evangeline Parish and the former Lula Chenevert of Plaucheville. Rosie was a volunteer with the Lafayette Convention and Tourist Center for 19 years. She volunteered at St. John Cathedral Center and also the Salvation Army. She was a member of the Louisiana Teachers Association. She was a retired teacher having taught for 42 years. She is survived by one daughter-in-law, Pat LeBlanc and husband, Glenn; two grandchildren, Christi LeBlanc Credeur and husband, Tony, and Kevin LeBlanc and wife, Michelle; the loves of her life, her five great grandchildren, Kennedy LeBlanc, Katie Beth Credeur, Grace LeBlanc, Julian Credeur, and Griffin Luke LeBlanc; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; and many, many special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph R. Dufour; one son, Robert 'Bob' Dufour; and four brothers, Oswald 'Son' Landreneau, Vernon Landreneau, Ewell Landreneau, and Francis Landreneau. The family requests that visiting hours be observed Wednesday from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and continue Thursday from 8:00 am until the time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Wednesday in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Billy Juneau, Brad Juneau, Joey Landreneau, Jon O. Downs, Bill Juneau, and Rod Touchet. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin LeBlanc, Toby Credeur, Glenn LeBlanc, and Dr. Gerard St. Martin.
