Rosemary Daire Fergus

Funeral Services will be held at Delhomme Funeral Home Chapel of the Flowers on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 11:00 am, for Rosemary Daire Fergus, 80, who passed away on Monday, August 26, 2013 at her residence in Lafayette. Reverend Howard Blessing, Pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Rosemary, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Prosper Daire and the former Clorice Bertrand. Rosemary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She enjoyed gardening, reading, working puzzles, playing Scrabble with her family, and looked forward to family gatherings. She always enjoyed visits to the casinos. Rosemary and Don belonged to the Cruisin Cajun and Lone Star Bounder RV Clubs and were one of the founding members of the LA-ARK Roos RV Club. She enjoyed travelling and spending time with their many RV buddies. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Donald E. Fergus; her son, Thomas "Butch" LeBlanc, Jr. and his wife, Janeice Armes; her four daughters, Claudia Fergus, Patricia F. Ward and husband Mike, Donna Fergus and her companion, John Brown, and Amy F. Prudhomme and husband, Damon "Tiny"; Her grandchildren, Guy, Charlie, Causey, Tiffany, Ryan, Doni, Kayleigh, Marcy and Macie; her great-grandchildren, Logan, Daylen, Jackson, Tallen, Chloe and Bentley; her brothers, Joe Daire and his wife Nell, and Harold Daire and his wife Janice; several nieces and nephews. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home on Bertrand Dr. on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. A Rosary will be prayed Wednesday at 6:00 pm in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Thursday, August 29, 2013 from 8:00 am until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Mike Ward, Damon "Tiny" Prudhomme, John Davenport, Jerry Daire, Jason Daire, and Al Trahan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Thomas "Butch" LeBlanc, Jr., Joe Daire, Harold Daire, Richard Fergus, Guy Girouard and Charlie Ward. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made to Miles Perret Cancer Services, 2130 Kaliste Saloom Road, Lafayette, LA 70508 or Southern Care Hospice, 620 Guilbeau Road, Lafayette, LA 70506.
