Sandra "Sandy" Moreau Aguillard

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 28, 2023 in St. Mary Mother of the Church for Sandra "Sandy" Lee Moreau Aguillard, 78, who passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023, following a short bout with stomach cancer. Fr. Cedric Sonnier, Pastor of St. Mary Mother of the Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Serving as lector will be Diane Whittington. Serving as gift bearers will be her children, Jeanne, Bryan, and Dianne. Services will be live-streamed here. Burial will take place in Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Cemetery. Sandy was born in Fort Worth, Texas and is the daughter of Clarence and Nancy (McGill) Moreau. Sandy lived all over the United States and Germany before her parents retired in Lafayette, LA. Directly after High School, she completed degrees in speech pathology at the University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1969. During her work years, she worked as a speech pathologist in the school systems, Rehab settings in New Orleans, LA, Andalusia, AL, Jennings, LA, and in Region IV of Early Steps. She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Clark Joseph Aguillard; her children, Jeanne Aguillard Smith (Smitty), Dianne Aguillard Bowers (Steven), and Bryan Paul Aguillard; 11 grandchildren, Ian Clark, Michael Broussard, Cory Broussard, Eric Broussard, Ty Aguillard, Jace Aguillard, Kailey Aguillard, Ryan Aguilllard, Carter Porche, Garret Porche, and Decatur Bowers; and sisters, Patricia Lynn Moreau Redmond and Catherine Ann Moreau Taylor. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Nancy Moreau. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Visiting hours will continue at St. Mary Mother of the Church on Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 08:00 AM until the Rosary at 9:30 AM. The pallbearers will be Ryan Aguillard, Carter Porche, Ty Aguillard, Jace Aguillard, Michael Broussard, and Eric Broussard. Honorary Pallbearers will be Cory Broussard, Kailey Aguillard, and Decatur Bowers. The family would like to thank the staff, nurses, and doctors with Hospice of Acadiana for their compassionate care, during Sandy's time of need.
