Sylvia Marie Stroud

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 7, 2023 in Delhomme Funeral Home - Scott for Sylvia Marie Stroud whose golden heart stopped beating at the young age of 71. Brother Todd Menard will conduct the funeral services. Sylvia, a resident of Duson, was the daughter of the late Adam Romero and the former Mable Falcon. Sylvia was known for her deep love, and devotion to God, her husband, children, brother-in-law, and grandchildren who were always her top priority. Sylvia's compassionate nature touched the lives of all who knew her. She loved life and being a caregiver brought her much joy. She loved people and never met a stranger. Sylvia always saw the best in everyone and every situation. Sylvia enjoyed playing pokeno, reading, puzzles, and spending time with her family and friends. She never let anything bring her down. Sylvia was a true inspiration and the epitome of a warrior. Left to cherish her memories are, her husband of 54 years, Gerald Stroud; daughters Kelly (Harry) Schexnayder, Kandace Guilbeau, and Kourtney Stroud; brother in law, Kim Joseph Stroud; 5 grandchildren, Tylor (Gabrielle) Guilbeau, Amber Guilbeau, Hailey (Alvin) Miller, Danielle Schexnayder, and Kaleb Schexnayder; 8 great grandchildren, Braxton, Grayson, Layla, Kamden, Owen, Braxson, Averianna, and Langston; sister, Judy (Pete) Richard; brother, Robert J. (Debra) Romero, Sr as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents; son, Jared James Stroud; grandson, Hunter Jude Guilbeau, and her best friend, Marie LeBlanc. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Scott on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Visiting hours will continue on Thursday, September 7, 2023 from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Kristopher Richard, James Romero, Jr., Kaleb Schexnayder, Darren Stroud, Harry Schexnayder, and Tylor Guilbeau. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kim Joseph Stroud and Marc Broussard.
